Dr Magdalena Leszczyńska-Wiącek is a partner at MLW Legal and a member of the Warsaw Bar. She graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw and, in 2005, completed full-time doctoral studies at the University of Warsaw. She devoted her doctoral dissertation to the issue of restitution of property, which shaped her approach to matters requiring in-depth legal analysis, sensitivity to wealth issues and an understanding of the historical and cross-border context of rights protection.
She was the first Polish lawyer to be entered in the Register of Advocates of Ukraine. She is also a member of the Kyiv City Bar Council. This unique dual-jurisdiction experience forms the foundation of the firm’s strong Ukrainian Desk and enables her to handle matters that require efficient navigation between the Polish and Ukrainian legal orders, particularly in criminal, asset-related and private client protection matters.
Her practice is focused primarily on criminal law, including defence in white collar crime matters, conducted at every stage of preparatory and court proceedings. She represents clients in matters where liberty, reputation, family security and the integrity of wealth are at stake. Thanks to experience also gained as an insolvency administrator conducting insolvency and restructuring proceedings before commercial courts in Warsaw and Poznań, she offers advice combining procedural, wealth-related and strategic perspectives.
She is the author of numerous academic publications and co-author of the commentary to the Civil Code of Ukraine (2020) and the commentary to the Law on the Bar of Ukraine (2020). She speaks Ukrainian, Russian and English. In her relationships with clients, she remains a trusted adviser in matters requiring absolute discretion, the personal involvement of a partner and solutions designed to protect reputation, capital and legacy.
